CASE STUDY: THE HOME DEPOT
Community Relations/Public Relations
SITUATION:
Based in Atlanta, Georgia, The Home Depot selected the firm to handle public relations, special events and grand openings for its West Coast operations.
STRATEGY/RESULT:
Staff has coordinated numerous promotions for The Home Depot and handled its grand openings throughout the West Coast. Coordination of these grand openings includes event planning and catering, development of guest lists, production and distribution of invitations, and coordination of VIP participation and publicity. The agency consistently produced events that attract The Home Depot’s targeted customer base while generating local media coverage and community support for the retailer.
Additionally, we prepared a Grand Opening Manual and press materials on the company’s special services. These materials are used by The Home Depot’s public relations staff and store managers in all markets throughout the country.
The agency handled all West Coast public relations needs for Home Depot including media interviews, "do-it-yourself" segments on local talk shows, community relations and crisis communications. The staff of our firm was in constant communications with The Home Depot’s public relations staff to provide recommendations on ways to gain positive recognition in its local communities.
Our staff also coordinated the grand opening and introduction of The Home Depo EXPO in San Diego, California. EXPO is The Home Depot’s laboratory store and is designed as a testing facility for new marketing and merchandising ideas.
